SUBMARINE VISIT!

NLUS Monterey Council Members Prepare to Board the USS Jefferson CityLast month, four of our council members, Jim Beard, Ann Hogan, Tony Butterfield, and Andy Moosa, were fortunate enough to have the opportunity to visit USS Jefferson City (SSN 759) while underway. They rode a tug out to the ship from San Diego for their visit. They report that the crew were intelligent and knowledgeable and they were given royal treatment while onboard. The entire trip was exciting and rewarding. There may be an opportunity to schedule a similar visit this year to one of the aircraft carriers.

These opportunities are subject to operational rescheduling and require a lot of flexibility. Jim Beard, our adopted units director, has a DVD from this visit and is preparing a trip report for those who may be interested.
